How to Run Meta Ads Using Claude: My Process From Research to Report

How to use Claude to run better Meta ads: research competitors, write hooks and variations, plan the test, check pages and read results, with prompts.

How to Run Meta Ads Using Claude: My Process From Research to Report

The short answer

Claude cannot run your Meta ads for you, but it speeds up every step around them. Use it to sort competitor ads from the Meta Ad Library, write hooks and ad variations from your real offer, plan the campaign structure, check your landing page and lead form, and turn exported results into a plain-English report. You still set up and publish the ads in Meta Ads Manager and check every claim.

People search "how to run Meta ads using Claude" hoping AI will do it all. It will not. You still build and publish the campaign in Meta Ads Manager. But Claude makes every step around the ads faster and sharper: research, writing, planning, checking and reporting.

This is the process I use, with prompts you can copy. If you have never run Meta ads, read how to run Meta ads step by step first.

Where Claude fits in a campaign

Stage You do Claude helps with
Research Collect competitor ads Finding patterns in hooks and offers
Message Know your offer and customer Hooks, ad text variations, headlines
Plan Decide budget and goal Campaign structure, test plan
Page and form Build them Reviewing them for friction and unclear text
Launch Publish in Ads Manager Pre-launch checklist
Report Export results Reading the numbers, next tests

Step 1: Research competitors faster

Open the free Meta Ad Library and note 10 to 20 competitor ads in a sheet: page, start date, hook (first line), offer, format and call to action. Then:

Here are 15 Meta ads from businesses in my market (sheet attached).
1) Group them by the main angle they use.
2) Which hooks and offers appear in ads running longest?
3) What is nobody saying that a customer would care about?
Use only what is in the sheet. Do not guess results.

The last question often gives the best idea for your own ads.

Step 2: Write hooks from your real offer

Give Claude facts, not "make it catchy":

Business: spoken English classes, Lucknow, for working adults.
Customer worry: feeling nervous speaking English in office meetings.
Offer: a free demo class this Saturday.
Write 10 first lines for a Meta ad (under 12 words each), using different
angles: question, mistake, small story, myth, before/after feeling.
No exaggerated promises, no fake numbers, no "guaranteed".

Pick the three you would actually stop for. Then ask for the full ad text for each, in under 80 words, ending with one clear action.

Step 3: Plan the campaign and the test

I have a daily budget I can afford for 7 days and want enquiries via an
Instant form. Suggest a simple campaign structure for a beginner: objective,
number of ad sets, audience approach for a city-level business, and which
3 ad variations to test so I learn one clear thing. Explain each choice in
one line.

Check the answer against Meta's current options in Ads Manager. Claude can suggest; Meta's screen is the truth.

Step 4: Check your landing page and form

Most campaigns fail after the click. Paste your landing page text or form questions:

This is the landing page text for my ad (pasted below). The ad promises a
free demo class. Check: does the first screen match the ad's promise? Is
there one clear action? Which questions in the form could I remove? Any line
that sounds like an unproven claim? Give me a fixed version of the top section.

Step 5: The pre-launch check

Act as a careful Meta ads reviewer. Here is my ad text, headline, offer and
landing page link. List anything that might break Meta's advertising
standards or confuse a customer, and anything missing before I publish.

Then go through the free Meta ads launch checklist yourself. A human makes the final call.

Step 6: Turn results into a plain-English report

After a few days, export results from Ads Manager (ad name, spend, impressions, clicks, results, cost per result). Remove names and phone numbers if you add lead data. Then:

Attached is my Meta ads export for the last 7 days. Tell me:
1) Which ad has the lowest cost per result and the highest CTR?
2) Where people drop off (clicks vs results).
3) Two specific next tests, each changing one thing.
Show your calculations for cost per result so I can check them.

Check a few calculations yourself. Then write the next test into your plan. This loop (test, read, adjust) is the core of performance marketing.

Make it repeatable with a skill

Once you like your ad rules (tone, banned claims, format), put them in a Claude skill so every request follows them without re-explaining. See Claude Skills explained.

What Claude should not do

  • Invent numbers, reviews or results for your ads. Ever.
  • Decide your budget for you. You know what you can afford to test.
  • Replace looking at the actual ads. Watch your own videos on a phone before you publish.

Every claim in an ad is your responsibility, whoever wrote the first draft. Used this way, Claude does not replace the marketer. It gives the marketer more time to think. New to Claude? Start with how to use Claude AI.

Questions people ask

Can Claude create and publish Meta ads directly?
Not in the normal chat. You build and publish ads in Meta Ads Manager. Claude helps with research, writing, planning and analysis around that.
Is AI-written ad copy allowed on Meta?
Yes, as long as the ad follows Meta’s advertising standards. You are responsible for every claim in the ad, whoever wrote it.
Which Claude plan do I need for this?
The free plan is enough to try the prompts in this guide. Paid plans help if you analyse large exports or work on many campaigns.
Can Claude analyse my Ads Manager data?
Yes. Export your results as a CSV or spreadsheet, upload it, and ask specific questions. Check its calculations on a few rows yourself.
How many ad variations should I test?
Two or three per ad set, each changing one thing such as the hook or the image, so you can tell what made the difference.
Will AI copy make my ads cheaper?
Not by itself. Results depend on the offer, the creative, the audience and how fast you follow up. AI mainly saves time and helps you test more ideas.
Should I paste customer data into Claude?
Remove names, phone numbers and emails before uploading lead lists. Usually you only need columns like date, source, ad name and outcome.
Can Claude design ad images?
Claude can write image briefs, suggest layouts and create simple graphics with code, but for photos and polished designs use a design tool such as Canva or your own photos.
